Often bands give it away just to be heard. Sad but true, musicians have to compete for your ear and you never want to pay for it. The bands I talk about on this site play at Toronto bars for a $5 or $10 cover. They try to sell CDs for $20 or EPs for much less, but often find it a hard sell.
